The Challenge

Emirates is the largest airline in the Middle East and the 2013 Winner of Skytrak Best Airline Award. The airline wanted to do something that made it easier and more enjoyable for passengers to travel with Emirates and for staff to process their customers efficiently and gain better customer insight.

Emirates wanted to create a highly engaging user experience for passengers before the flight, inflight and post flight to drive customer loyalty.

"The challenge was to deliver Emirates a very ambitious app with over 80 features, which would be recognized as the best travel app in the world."

The Solution

Emirates leveraged the enterprise-grade engineering expertise to consult and help build their internal mobile development team and created an app including many useful features.

Online check-in method enables users to easily check-in before their flight to save queuing at the airport.

"Booking manager in the app stores trip bookings locally on the iPad so that users can review the trip details whilst travelling."

The Outcome

By making the app a personal experience, Emirates has transformed how easy it is for customers to book and to manage a trip on the go. It will help drive loyalty and revenue for Emirates. Within a week of its release to the UAE (March 2014) the new Emirates iPad app was the number one Travel App in the UAE and rewarded with a 5 star rating.
